Carmex works better then Blistex, blistex is just chap stick it will only sooth the symptoms it doesn't do much to heal sores but it will keep the sore moist. Or you can use either Abreva or Lipactin. Apply one of those creams to the sore regularly every day until it goes away. Cold sores typically last about a week or two. If you don't notice a difference after 2 weeks then you may need some antiviral medication from your doctor.
