I take Lysine which you can buy over the counter. They help alot and also putting hot packs will help them heal, but what your doing with the tea bags for sure is helping as it is a drawer. I don't know about the ice cubes and you need to put carmex on the sore. I just keep applying it as often as i can.

- Thanx for the help. I put the ice cube directly on it as soon as I feel if. I leave it on for like 10 minutes and all the pain goes away as well as the swelling. They say it also kills it in it's tracks. It actually works very well.

Lysine supplementation buddy ..... 3g. (3,000mg) daily (in divided doses) between meals with water or juice ~ no protein.
Vitamin E Oil applied directly to the affected area will soothe and speed healing.
Vitamin C 1,000mg in the morning and at night .... in a powdered form dissolved in juice or water is easiest for your body to assimilate.... and will bolster your immune system, the healing process and help with connective tissue regeneration.
peace baby

A great natural remedy is olive leaf extract, always worked miracles for me. Also when they are inside your mouth (usually the most painful) rinse your mouth with hydrogen peroxide, the oxygen in hydrogen peroxide fights the virus.

My college "Minx" already beat me to it so the only thing I can add to her answer is an application of normal toothpaste on the sore. It brings good relieve overnight.

Tea Tree
Lemon Balm (Melissa) - true Lemon Balm is expensive (around £25 so if you see it cheap, it's not true Lemon Balm) it works very quickly and can prevent further outbreaks.
Edit; 6 thumbs down! I bet none of you have ever tried them!!

Home Remedy? I'm not too sure, maybe which-hazel would help.
if not why not buy a small tube or jar of Carmex?, it works WONDERS!
