What's the best way to get rid of a cold sore?
I have an awful cold sore on my upper lip. It has now transferred to my skin between my nose and my lip. In the past I've tried abreva, zilactin b, herpicin L, chapstick medicated cold sore treatment, carmex, etc. Abreva works ok but it's expensive. Is there any home remedies that can clear it up? I've heard of using a wet tea bag helps? Any suggestions would help! Thank you.

I found that quickeze (the ant-acid for heartburn) tablets.... Just grab one of them before u go to bed, put a bit of spit on your finger and rub it on the quickeze to make a thick paste and smear it all over the cold sore , so its all covered in white. Go to bed and don't lick at it. The aluminium in quickeze helps it do its work. You can do this at any time, but at nights best coz u don't lick at it.
Good luck!

While visiting a dermatologist is the best option, a wet tea bag shall definitely help in stopping further aggravation. Also take plenty of luke warm fluids.
It might be worth going to see your doctor just to make sure that what you have is really just a cold sore.
