I want any answers to how you get cold sores. Is it caused by germs or by sharing drinks or what? Any information will help. Thanks.

Cold sores is a form of herpes. i have had them since i was a baby. my family ended up giving them to me. it is a virus and just like the STD there is no cure. You just get them. i usually get them at the beginning or at the end of when i get sick. That is usually when your body is more prone to infection. Some people get them when they go through a lot of stress. There is medicine that shortens the healing time of them. So if you have them see your doctor about getting treatment for when you get them. Unfortunately I wish there was a cure. i have been dealing with them for over 20 years now and let me tell you high school was hell because of it. But I feel Ya!

- If someone has cold sores, they have caught a strain of herpes. I get cold sores because I caught the virus on a plane when I was five. Now, I get them periodically, usually when I am really stressed out, sleep-deprived, or from excessive citrus intake. If someone has a cold sore, it can be spread through sharing drinks, kissing, etc.17% 2 Votes
- i thought that it was only spread through OPEN sores from other people. like if you kiss or drink after someone who has an open sore...i've drank after my sis, when her cold sores where mostly heald and i haven't gotten them. then again i did get the Chicken pox really bad as a kid too. thats also a form of herpes. :)8% 1 Vote
